This year has started off on a high point. It is with great pleasure that I announce being nominated for a Juno. Since the nomination, it has been an extremely exciting few weeks. I have looked back at how it has worked out my composer’s journey, and it hasn’t always been easy, so that gives this nomination extra significance. I am grateful for the people who stood by me and kept me going even when the journey of an artist/composer was a bit tough!

This past year was the release of Music in the Barns’ CD, directed by Carol Gimbel, on New Focus Recordings co-produced by Carol Gimbel, David Jaeger and Cullan Bryant, as well as the stellar playing of Amy Liang, cello, Andrew Eng and Lance Ouellette, violins and Carol on viola; engineer Dennis Patterson and editor Peter Weitzner. Although the category is for Classical Composition of the Year, the nomination is for this amazing team. It was already an honor to get to work with this group of brilliant musicians, and this nomination is more than I could ever expect.
